1. How do
the application rules apply to 28 year olds?
You must be under the age of 28 on the date the application is received
by WP(UK). See

2. Do you accept copies of certificates?
Original documentation is required.
Under exceptional circumstances copies of documents will be accepted
where the originals have been lost or are not available. A notary
must sign all copies of such documents, stating that they are bone
fide. Translations of documents, not in English, will only be accepted
where a letter accompanies them from a fully certified translator.

3. What documentation is required
to show proof of living with my partner?
If you are applying as an unmarried partner you should supply 5 items
from the list below or from sources of the list below. These should
be addressed to you and your partner and have been received in the
last 2 years. These should show that you have been living together
at the same address. If you have not received any such correspondence
it is acceptable to provide 3 or 4 items addressed to one of you and
1 or 2 items addressed to the other partner provided they show the
same address and that the total number of documents supplied equals

4. What to do with the completed application
form?
In the first instance you must submit:
A fully completed Highly Skilled Migrant Programme application form.
The correct payment.
Any original documentation required to support statements made on
the HSMP form.
AFTER Home Office approval of the application form against the HSMP
criteria has been given you must apply to vary your leave to remain.
This entails a charge.
You must submit: • A fully completed FLR(IED) application
form. • The correct payment. • Any original documentation
required to support statements made on the FLR(IED) application form.
5. How do I get an extension?
Extension applications should be submitted two months before your
leave to remain as a Highly Skilled Migrant expires.

6. How long does it take to get
a decision on an application?
Given the unprecedented take up of the Programme, applications are
now subject to delays. Information regarding current delays is available

7. How do you convert earnings to UK sterling and what happens if
I haven't worked for 12 months?
Normally the currency rate at the time the application is being considered,
however, if the applicant is able to demonstrate that the currency
rate has altered since the time it was earned, then historical data
where provided may be considered.
